Razorlight and Sugababes announce Q gigs
Razorlight and Sugababes are the latest additions to the bill for our series of gigs in the countdown to the Q Awards 2008.
The bands will play on consecutive nights, October 1 and 2, and join Keane who have already been confirmed for the newly-launched series of shows.
Razorlight, who have been holed up working on their third album, have only played briefly this year including a performance at Scotland’s Rockness Festival. The hugely successful Sugababes, who have notched up six number ones with various line-ups since their first single in 2000, have been working on their sixth album.
The gigs have been put together by Q and Mean Fiddler in the build up to the Q Awards 2008 – one of the most prestigious and star-studded events in the music calendar - which take place on October 6. The Keane show on September 29 is to the first event of the Q Awards: The Gigs shows, with Sugababes on October 1 and Razorlight on October 2.
Paul Rees, editor in chief of Q, said: ““Each year we aim to make the Q Awards bigger and better, and to keep delivering a different take on them. Each of the shows will be covered extensively across the whole Q brand and I expect this to be the first of many such initiatives that Q launches in the near future.”
Tickets for the shows will cost £25 plus booking fee. They go on sale from Monday, September 1, at www.aloud.com.
