• When they say Kate Nash, I assume they mean Lily Allen, as Kate Nash is such a rip off of her. "At first when I see you cry it makes me smile" ..."every time you're upset and I smile"... anyone else notice a slight similarity/ petty much carbon copy! Not to mention, singing in a sing-song-mockney voice.

• This award is the reason I don't read Q anymore. Breakthrough artist means breakthrough in the sense that they've sold lots of records not made a breakthrough in terms of the music they've written. Its quite ironic that this months issue is people who changed music. I can't see any of these retards being in the magazine hailed as having changed music in a similar article in 21 years time.

• I wasn't actually going to write anything at all on this, as the majority of the bitter and immature comments are probably from a bunch of kids with nothing better to do really then sit online all day and wonder what crap to write next, as it's obviously so much easier to give abuse annoymously online then face to face isn't it? A lot of you need to bear in mind that the artists do actually read a lot of these comments. I cannot think of a better person then Kate to have won this award. Maybe we've all become cloned into believing that talent is actually manufactured pop shite. Kate had worked a lot on producing the songs and work she has come up with over the last couple of years, and I think her songs are wonderful in the sense that they actually MEAN something and aren't about how much she wants to take her clothes off or all that other jibberish rubbish that seems to be taking over the charts at the minute. And yes- breakthrough artist; she has had a number one album and her first single went straight in at number 2. I'm starting to think maybe people have gone funny in the head- maybe you'd be much happier for another take that or the spice girls? Or maybe it's time to get with the times and embrace the new music scene. Kate Nash deserves all the awards she will most definantly be up for in the near future. And we will be seeing a lot more of her, I guarentee that.

• I agree with the comment last posted. Kate is amazing and her album is something that deserves recognition, she deserved to win this award and she is nothing like Lily Allen. Ive seen Lily Allen and Kate Nash play and met them both and they are totally different people and artists. Everyone else whos wrote crap because their just bitter needs to get a life! Well Done Kate, congrats on the award. Cant wait to come see you live again!

• Fair enough Kate Nash's album went to Number 1 but so did Jack Penate's album and he is far more deserving in my eyes. Not only is his music original, he creates a great atmosphere when he's on stage. I have seen Jack and Kate perform and I have also met both of them. On the 2 occasions I have met Jack he could not have been happier to talk to us, and seemed genuinely grateful that we enjoyed his music and had travelled to see him perform. Kate on the other hand rolled her eyes when we tried to tell her that we liked her music. She was very blunt and could not get away fast enough. This was just before her album was released. After seeing her attitude I decided not to buy her record. I can't see her winning many more awards with an attitude like that..

• Im just glad it wasnt Jamie T. I would have like Mika to have got it, but Kate Nash is still an amazing artist, and she deserved to win! And shes hardly anything like Lily Allen when it comes to THE ACTUAL MUSIC. Which is what these awards are about. MUSIC!!! GGGAAAAARRRGGHHH!!!!!
